1) In what ways do we see confusion in our society about what it means to be men and women?
Read Genesis 1:26-31.
2) What does it mean for us to be created in God’s image?
Read Genesis 2:5-9, 15-25; Exodus 18:4; and Psalm 33:20.
3) How does Eve complement Adam as his “suitable helper” (Gen. 2:20b-25)? In these passages, what shows us that God’s design is good?
Read Genesis 3:1-19.
God’s good design for men and women was ruined by sin.
4) Where did Adam and Eve both go wrong (v.1-13)?
a. How do Eve’s actions fall short of the role she was given in Genesis 2:18?
5) Where was Adam while Eve was being tempted (v.6)?
a. What has happened to God’s order of leadership?
b. How do God, the man, the woman and the serpent relate to each other in Genesis 3?
6) How do the curses (v.16-19) reflect the different roles originally given to Adam and Eve, and how have those roles now been ruined by the Fall?
7) God designed women to be different from men:
a) How does this affect the way we see ourselves? How does it encourage and challenge us?
b) How does this affect the way we see the men we know?
c) How can we encourage men to be responsible and take a godly lead? How can we help the boys we care for in learning to do the same?
