The book of Zechariah is a prophetic call for repentance and renewal, urging God’s people to rebuild his temple with strength and obedience. Central to the prophecy is ‘The Branch,’ God’s anointed one, who will build the temple and rule as both king and priest, bringing peace and extending his dominion globally. Despite unfaithful shepherds, God will personally care for His people, refining them and renewing His covenant. In the end, God will defeat nations attacking Jerusalem and ensure its eternal security, and God himself will reign as king over the entire earth.
