Digging in

Read 2 Thessalonians 2:13–17.

  1. There is more to someone becoming and staying a Christian than meets the eye. From these verses, what does Paul see as the pathway?

    a. Would you add anything else?

  2. What does it mean to be saved by the sanctifying work of the Spirit (v.13)?

  3. What does it mean to share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ (v.14)?

  4. How do we stand firm and hold fast to the teachings passed on to us (v.15)?

  5. How might this passage help us respond to any new wave of false teaching in the church? For more, read: 2 Timothy 3:16–18; Hebrews 4:12–13; 2 Peter 1:12–21; Jude 3–4.

  6. How does grace give us eternal encouragement and good hope (v.16)?

  7. How do Jesus and God encourage our hearts and strengthen us in every good deed and word (v.17)?
